Zinc Grounding Cells

ECOANODE’s zinc earthing cell is a dual-function device engineered to serve as both a sacrificial anode for corrosion protection and a critical component for electrical grounding.  Leveraging galvanic electrochemical action, it prioritizes its own corrosion to shield connected steel structures—including pipelines and industrial equipment. This intentional, controlled degradation creates a cathodic protection system that shields the steel from the destructive effects of moisture, soil electrolytes, saltwater, and chemical contaminants, effectively halting rust formation, pitting, and structural weakening. Additionally, it provides a vital safety function by safely bleeding off unwanted voltages and fault currents to the ground. This effectively mitigates the risks of dangerous electrical shock to personnel, prevents arcing, and protects insulated joints from heat damage and burning.

Application

The packaged zinc anodes are used in marine and soil applications where electrolyte resistivity is less than 1000 ohm-cm.
